Between the Veil and the Earth: Visual and Intergenerational Ethnographic Memory Through Wedding Photography from a Gender Perspective. An A/r/tographic Approach

Abstract

The contribution to this monographic issue is based on an educational experience carried out with students from the Master's Degree in Research and Aesthetic Education at the University of Jaén. The project described in this article is defined as a narrative-based methodology that seeks knowledge for the construction of memory, based on the narrative and visual constructions of women from a small town in Jaén, whose family images allow us to construct an ethnographic imaginary about roles, power, submission and self-concept. On the other hand, the results analyse and highlight social behaviours, anthropological issues and their respective changes over generations, which help to integrate the empowerment and dignification of their role in the social fabric.
