Work of scientific dissemination, structured around the course unit Women, Race and Ethnicities, aims to serve an academic audience in the interdisciplinary fields of Cultural Studies, Postcolonial Studies and Feminist Studies.
The analysis of the various epistemologies of feminism, in conjunction with the articulation of the categories of gender, race and coloniality, proposes a critical reading of hegemonic feminisms.
Utilising bibliographic analysis as her methodological framework, the author explores the silences inherent in hegemonic feminisms, and how the production of knowledge by these feminisms contributes to epistemic violence against women who have been subordinated.
The present work seeks to rethink the epistemological foundations of feminist research, with a view to legitimising historical analyses situated in colonial and postcolonial contexts.
