Between public and private: women’s discourse in graffiti movements

This article discusses the visual urban occupations emphasizing the female protagonists in these movements, by analyzing the dynamics of discourse and demonstrate the gender relations. These events, defined as happenings, are understood as means of interaction that call into question issues such as collective space and freedom of expression, in a kind of communicational space frontier, a dialogical construction where the protagonist is male and remarkably few women participants recreate their identity references in confrontation or submission to male parameters. Movements which affect an area of communication boundary between art and misdemeanor.Downloads
