Looks on female delinquency

Abstract

This paper presents a dialogue between two qualitative research undertaken with children and youth involved in delinquency. The authors try to reflect on the construction of the (in)visibility of the female figure based on the theoretically consistent relation between delinquency and genre, spanning various ages and several expressions of this phenomenon. Different femininities are identified in the practice of delinquency, and risks and experimentation emerge are structural axes in many delinquent female actions. No less important is the feminization line identified in the delinquency social learning, mainly developed amongst children and youths female relatives or peers.
