Abstract

Between Volition and Punishment: Aggressions against childfree women

This paper shares the results of a feminist research study based on digital ethnography, which presents the analysis of biographical-narrative interviews with 16 childfree women who have experienced social pressure and aggressions related to exercising their reproductive autonomy. The social pressure experienced by these women varied according to their age, geographic location, and religious context in which they lived. Furthermore, it was possible to classify the aggressions into three types: threats to the future, infantilisation and denigration.
