Abstract

The participation of rural women in the Portuguese Revolution and its impact on their emancipation remains an enigma that needs to be explored and deepened historically. This article examines the role of rural women in the resistance to the dictatorship (1950-1974) and during the revolutionary period (1974-1975), highlighting them as social, political and historical subjects. The analysis aims to reveal their contributions and struggles, providing a more comprehensive understanding of this transformative period that was crucial for the emancipation of women in the Portuguese rural world.
